New to Drupal
Designed for beginners and those exploring Drupal for the first time. Sessions should introduce core concepts, terminology, and foundational workflows in an approachable way. Ideal topics include getting started with Drupal, understanding the ecosystem, basic site building, and navigating community resources with confidence.
Development & Performance
Focused on building, extending, and optimizing Drupal applications. Topics may include custom module development, APIs, architecture decisions, migrations, caching strategies, debugging, and performance tuning. Sessions should provide practical, technical depth that helps teams build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Project Management & Consulting
Centers on the planning, leadership, and delivery of Drupal projects. Possible topics include estimation, budgeting, stakeholder communication, Agile methodologies, governance, resource management, and consulting strategies. The emphasis is on improving outcomes, strengthening partnerships, and delivering value consistently.
Off the "Drupal Island"
Explores ideas beyond Drupal itself. Topics may include emerging technologies, AI, leadership lessons, cross-platform strategies, product thinking, or insights from adjacent industries. The goal is to broaden perspective and bring fresh thinking back into Drupal work.
Site-Building
Geared toward those who create websites using Drupal’s UI and contributed modules. Sessions should focus on configuration, Views, Layout Builder, workflows, permissions, and best practices for assembling powerful sites without heavy custom code. Practical demonstrations and real-world use cases are encouraged.
Theming, Design, & Usability
Focused on presentation and user experience. Topics may include Twig, CSS, design systems, accessibility, responsive design, UX research, and usability improvements. Sessions should connect thoughtful design with effective implementation and promote inclusive, user-centered experiences.
Community
Highlights the people who power Drupal. Sessions may include mentorship, contributor pathways, event organizing, diversity and inclusion, lessons from other open-source communities, and sustaining long-term participation. The focus is strengthening and growing the Drupal ecosystem together.
